Iqra English School for Girls celebrated the Health Awareness Day on Tuesday, 26th March 2019. This event was held to educate children in promoting the importance of health and benefits of eating healthy.

The day started off with aerobic workouts for all students by Year group led by Ms. Marjorie, the PE teacher at the PE Hall. After the energetic and amazing moves students went back to their respective classes to have their healthy meals. Each class had breakfast inside the classroom, sharing the healthy food they have brought for their own classmates and friends. The school provided fruits and drinks to all students to supplement the nutrients in each of them.

The Preschool had a program presenting song and dance number about how to keep the body healthy. During the day the Year 1 to Year 4 children attended a lecture on Hygiene conducted by Dr. Annamma from the Primary Health Centre. Dr. Rania gave a lecture on disease prevention for the Year 5 and 6.
The event ended with a physical activity for the staff. Healthy fruits and drinks were provided to the staff after the workout. It was a successful event and we look forward to another celebration next year!
